Sonnets Day, 20 May, commemorates the date in 1609 when Thomas Thorpe registered SHAKE-SPEARES SONNETS with the Stationers’ Company, ahead of its publication. Having become an ever-living poet (that is, a dead one) five years earlier, I was unavailable for the press tour.

A note on duplication: I hadn’t intended to duplicate new blog posts from edevere17.com to Substack prior to my permanent move to this platform— but I’ve reconsidered this, at least for some of them. I need to get up to speed on the formatting here, how/whether I’m going to deal with graphics, see what else will change in the downsize. So a few posts will be published here also.
